Andrey Ralev is one of the founders of the Coalition of NGOs “For the Nature”, an activist many campaigns and projects related to the development of active civil society, rural areas, sustainable use of forests, river protection. He has participated in field studies of various animal species in Bulgaria and is the author and co-author of several publications about bird species, habitats, conservation. He works actively both in Bulgaria and abroad. Since 2016 he has been engaged in biodiversity research and work with local communities in Svaneti, Georgia and Jermuk, Armenia. In 2018 he was in charge of the scientific work in the Caucasus Wildlife Reserve, the first privately managed protected area in Armenia. As the founder of a global network of activists and volunteers, Perangua, Andrey strives to make local issues more visible to the public. What is more, the Perangua team aims to support local activists by connecting them with experts. His hobbies include mountaineering, cycling, rock climbing, and other outdoor activities. Birds have always fascinated him making him a passionate and experienced birdwatcher.
